How long have you been breeding this breed?
I have been breeding Cavalier King for 30 years.
I am the only one in Italy to have several World Champions and I have sold dogs in: England, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, Brazil, Switzerland, USA, Norway, Sweden, Australia, Greece, Slovenia.
Among so many breeds why did you choose to breed the Cavalier King Charles?
I was one of the first to breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in Italy, when this wonderful breed was not yet in "fashion" and for this reason few breeders in Italy "believe it".
Things have changed since then and every day a new "breeding" or presumed one is appearing.
The crisis, unemployment or often the idea of easy earnings, has led many to improvise "breeders" by focusing on a requested breed such as the Cavalier with the result of seeing more and more Cavaliers not in standard and sometimes without the minimum requirements to be able to define them. Cavalier King.
To be able to select beautiful and healthy subjects, many years of hard work, commitment, time, sacrifices are necessary ... you have to choose bloodlines that do not carry health problems, avoid subjects that reproduce defects or pathologies ... in short like any profession it takes many years and you never stop learning.
What are the salient features of the Cavalier King Charles?
The Cavalier King is a dog of medium / small size, with a silky coat of medium length, long ears, large dark eyes well spaced and not protruding, well developed but not hanging lips, upper limbs are medium-boned with compact paws well equipped with hair.
The character of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is docile, never aggressive. Obedient, cheerful and playful, very fond of pampering and comfort.

Its silky coat needs to be brushed daily to avoid knots, it tends to shed a lot.

The Cavalier King is an extremely intelligent dog, if properly stimulated it shows rapidity in learning.
The trust it establishes with its owner is important, there must be a feeling between them.

I wouldn't say when compared to more problematic breeds.

The Cavalier King adapts very well to the life of its owner, travels without problems.
Do you suffer from loneliness?
The Cavalier King is a dog suitable for being in company.
It does not like to be alone, if you work outside the home for many hours it is useful to adopt another specimen of the same breed.
Who do you advise against?
